As part of Groundwork London's support in tracking the level of community benefits from the Nine Elms and Vauxhall development, the GDS team designed a mapping tool that can be used to gather, monitor and evaluate how communities benefit from the re-development.

Snapshots of the development and the community benefits were created for three different time periods, sourcing both spatial and non-spatial data from a variety of sources including local planning and development frameworks, section 106 contributions from relevant planning authorities and development phasing’s from specialist commissioning reports.

This data was used to build a community benefits tool which included online interactive maps, baseline and forecast datasheets, static maps and interactive tools and graphics built into a dashboard. This toolkit package provided a way for the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership to pull together and track community benefits information from over 60 developments.
